Many residents in Surrey Heath, in particular those living in Bagshot, Windlesham and Lightwater, continue to be affected by increased levels of aircraft noise, despite Heathrow’s trials ending on 12 November 2014 and its insistence that airspace has now returned to pre-trial conditions.Michael recognises that there is a clear divergence between Heathrow’s statements and the daily experience of his constituents, and is continuing to press the Department for Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority to hold Heathrow Airport to account.
Michael Gove met Windlesham Parish Councillor, Conrad Sturt, Graham Bullen of the Windlesham Society and Robert Goodwill, Minister of State for Transport, to discuss the widening of the M3 between junctions 2-4a. Mr Goodwill was delighted to report that all eight lanes of the M3 through Surrey Heath will now receive quiet-surface treatment during the smart motorway works.
In addition to Michael's usual appointment-only surgeries for Surrey Heath residents, he will be joining local Conservative Parish, Borough and County Councillors at their Three Villages Surgery at the Kings Arms in Bagshot on Saturday, 23 September at 10.30-12.30pm.
Michael Gove MP invites Surrey Heath constituents to join him at Deepcut Village Hall at 7pm on 26 September for his pre-party conference Q&A to discuss the issues that matter to them.
