*LATEST UPDATE* 11 April 2024 – Michael wrote to the Defra Secretary regarding the poor progress of negotiations with Thames Water, and will report back any news as soon as possible.
Pavement parking is a significant problem in particular areas in Surrey Heath, especially Frimley Green, Mytchett and Deepcut.
Michael wants to see councils given the powers they need to fine those who practice anti-social parking, blocking pavements, pathways and rights of way.
In 2022, Michael was very concerned by Chobham Sewage Treatment Works’ reported discharges into the River Bourne, and he has been working with Thames Water, the Environment Agency and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to ensure action is taken.
Since the beginning of 2023, Michael has written to Royal Mail on numerous occasions to raise concerns about infrequent and sporadic mail deliveries across Surrey Heath.
Frimley Park Hospital is rated as an Outstanding local hospital by the Care Quality Commission, much-loved by our community. It’s particularly special to me as its staff saved my son's life, and I have fundraised for the Frimley Park Special Baby Care Unit.
Surrey Heath needs better, safer and faster transport, from trains and buses to roads and cycling, and my Conservative colleagues and I are working together to secure the local improvements we need.
Michael is continuing to press for step-free access to be installed at Ash Vale Station, as the current access at the station is difficult for less-able people, such as the elderly, and completely impossible for those in a wheelchair.
