Michael wholeheartedly supports the fight for a greatly improved rail service, and is working together with local Councillors to ensure residents’ voices are heard.
*LATEST UPDATE* August 2023 - Michael received a response from the Minister for Defence Procurement, which is attached below, confirming all works to support enhanced access to Ash Ranges are now complete, including the installation of the gate between the Range Access Road and Corridor.
In Summer 2022, Michael was contacted by many constituents who were very concerned about the rollout of internet services by toob as the company was proposing to use new telegraph poles where no underground utilities were available.
Esso is replacing 90km of its 105km underground aviation fuel pipeline that runs from Southampton to London. A large portion of the existing pipeline, and the new route for the replacement pipeline, passes through Surrey Heath.

We are very fortunate to have such beautiful green spaces in Surrey Heath – the local authority area with the highest percentage of tree cover in the country – and Michael is passionate about protecting and enhancing our environment for future generations.
In September 2022, a number of Lightwater families contacted Michael regarding their concerns that their children had been denied a place on the school bus to Collingwood College in Camberley, as they live just under the required three miles away from the school.
