Landmark step in childcare support for parents

Michael Gove, MP for Surrey Heath, has today welcomed the landmark announcement to introduce tax-free childcare which, when fully implemented, will be worth up to £1,200 every year, for each child under age 12 and could benefit 2.5 million families.

Michael Gove welcomes clearer information on local crimes

Michael Gove has welcomed news that the public will get a clearer picture of how police are tackling crime with the introduction of more detailed crime categories. Under the current system, 70 per cent of crimes are recorded as ‘undetected’, leaving victims and the public concerned that nothing has been done by police.

Government triples Prompt Payment pledges in drive to support small businesses

Michael Gove, MP for Surrey Heath, has today welcomed the news that in just four months the number of FTSE 350 firms signing up to the Prompt Payment Code has tripled. There are now 126 FTSE 350 firms signed up to the Code, with 94 new firms since November last year.  Three quarters of FTSE 100 companies have signed, or are in the process of signing, the Code. 

Michael Gove MP meets Constituent to discuss global hunger

Last Friday, Michael Gove, MP for Surrey Heath, met with his constituent, Christine Kemp, to discuss global hunger. Christine is a UNICEF Children’s Champion and  supporter of the Enough Food for Everyone IF campaign which is a coalition of more than 100 organisations, working together to demand changes to the food system that will benefit hungry people.
